How I work with AI while staying in control

AI speeds up my execution — never at the expense of quality or control. Here is, step by step, the workflow that guarantees code you (or any developer) can confidently take over.

The workflow, step by step

The structuring decisions — scoping, control, quality — stay human. AI only steps in where it accelerates without risk, within a frame I define and that tooled guardrails enforce.

  1. Step 1 : Scoping

    I understand the business need and define the scope and quality criteria. Nothing is delegated to AI at this stage: it's the foundation.

  2. Step 2 : Context

    Driven by me

    I give the AI the useful context — project conventions, constraints, existing architecture. It works within my frame, not the other way around.

  3. Step 3 : AI-assisted generation

    The AI proposes code and directions. This is where it saves time: drafts, variants, quickly getting up to speed on an unfamiliar codebase.

  4. The control loop

    I stay in control: I understand the architecture and the choices, review the sensitive parts, and confirm the result does exactly what was scoped. Nothing ships that I couldn't re-explain or maintain.

  5. Step 5 : Quality harness

    Driven by me

    Linters, strict typing, automated tests, regression checks and continuous integration: tooled guardrails verify every change. Quality is proven continuously by the machine, not assumed.

  6. Step 6 : Iteration

    Driven by me

    Control and the quality harness repeat until validation. As long as a doubt remains or a guardrail isn't green, the loop continues — that's the heart of control.

  7. Step 7 : Documented delivery

    I ship clean, documented, maintainable code, with the explanations your team needs to take over whenever it wants.

The control loop

Control, automated quality and iteration form a loop: you only leave it once the code is understood, verified by the guardrails and matches the criteria set at scoping. This mechanism is what turns AI-assisted generation into reliable production code.
