This portfolio is privacy-friendly: it uses no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party social widgets. This page transparently describes the few technical data points involved.

Data controller

Data processed

  • No form collection: contact happens by email (mailto:) or via the LinkedIn / Malt links. You alone decide to reach out; no data is sent to the site.
  • Hosting logs: the host (Netlify) technically records your IP address and request metadata (timestamp, page, browser type) to serve and secure the site. These logs are not used to track you and I do not access them individually.

Cookies and local storage

  • NEXT_LOCALE (cookie): remembers the language you chose (fr/en) so the site can be shown in the right language.
  • theme (browser local storage): remembers your light/dark theme preference.

Both are strictly necessary for the site to work and reflect a preference you express yourself. As such they are exempt from consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act; CNIL guidelines): no cookie banner is required. No analytics or advertising cookie is set.

Purposes and legal basis

To display the site in the chosen language and theme and to keep it secure — legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest in providing a functional, secure site.

Recipients and hosting

The technical data above is processed by the host Netlify, Inc. (United States), which may involve a transfer outside the European Union, covered by that provider's appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses / Data Privacy Framework). No data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

Retention

The language cookie and theme preference persist until they expire or you clear them (clearing your browser). The host's technical logs are retained per its own policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and restrict the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, email corentinlafay@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (https://www.cnil.fr).
